The Lemme Do It Series is a uniquely limited collection from Maia Faith’s studio–currently featuring only three pieces, with just one more planned to complete the set. The originals were created and meticulously cut out by the artist with a jigsaw tool, adding several hours of labor and careful precision to her usual painting process. Removing any personal or scenic background from these works intentionally directs attention to the captured moments that are often overlooked, highlighting their significance.
These prints are high quality reproductions of the esteemed originals, printed directly onto glass to reinforce the precious nature of the depicted moments of care. The shadow of the carved figures on the glass’ blank background creates the illusion of a cutout on display within a framed glass case. These works add a sense of warmth and gratitude to the home, as viewers are reminded of the selfless moments that can speak louder than grand gestures. The act of a younger sister stepping on a stool so she can comb her brother’s hair (and him staying still for her, no less), or a big sister delicately lifting her sister’s chin to apply lip gloss, or a dad cutting his son’s hair and imparting wisdom, whether the son wants to hear it or not. What a beautiful thing it is to serve in such a way that does not benefit you, but the other person. There is so much love there.
Each Limited Edition comes framed and signed with a certificate of authenticity and a handwritten letter from the artist.
